Andar Bahar Live Game Review

  • A vibrant and immersive Indian card game experience.
  • Fast-paced gameplay with thrilling side bet options.
  • Unlimited seats and live-streamed dealer action.

I’ve reviewed all sorts of online casino games in my time in this business, and very rarely have I ever come across a table game that is as basic or rudimentary as Andar Bahar. This Indian and Bangladeshi classic is becoming increasingly popular at live casinos across the world, with Westerners also appreciating its simplicity – especially amongst the first-time gambling crowd.

As always here at Gamesbelt, this resident reviewer is going to deep-dive into the game and explain what you can expect to see if you fancy having a crack at Ezugi’s version of live Andar Bahar today.

Setting Up Bets

Ezugi games tend to appeal to both low and high-rollers alike, and that’s the case again in this release. Andar Bahar supports stakes that start at around 0.10, and you can push the boat out. High rollers are eligible to wager up to 5,000 a pop on this game. I certainly don’t recommend going that deep, given that Andar Bahar is a game of chance – perhaps THE game of chance, as I’ll explain next.

Andar Bahar Gameplay

Andar Bahar is a matching game. A single deck of 52 cards is used. The game, which is sometimes referred to as Katti, begins by taking a card from the deck. This will become “the Joker” or the card that you want to match with.

Next, a card will be taken and added to the first side of the deck, known as Bahar. Following that, another will be added to the other side of the deck, known as Andar. This will continue until one of the sides, Andar or Bahar, matches (numerically) with the Joker card.

Of course, this means that you can only bet on Andar or Bahar in the base game. However, thanks to the presence of side-bets, this game can get a lot spicier, as I’ll explain next.

Side-Bets Explained for Beginners

If you want to add a little heat (and, let’s face it, a bit of excitement) to your game, it may be worth exploring the side bets. It’s not often that I’ll recommend that since they have disastrous house edges. You may find that Andar Bahar is just too bland without them, though.

While other software providers have gone down different routes, Ezugi has chosen to include a number betting style side-bet. In short, you’re having a punt on how many cards will be drawn before there is a match.

Side bets include:

  • 1 to 5 Cards
  • 6 to 10 Cards
  • 11 to 15 Cards
  • 16 to 25 Cards
  • 26 to 30 Cards
  • 31 to 35 Cards
  • 36 to 40 Cards
  • 41 to 49 Cards

It’s possible to land some considerably impressive prizes here. For instance, if you choose the 6-10 side-bet, then you’re effectively banking on the live dealer drawing at least six and no more than ten cards before either Andar or Bahar matches with the Joker.

How Much Can I Win on Ezugi’s Andar Bahar?

Because Bahar is the first side to receive a card, it has a statistically better chance of matching with the Joker than Andar, but only just. However, this is reflected in the payouts for the game. Side-bets can also be worth considerable money if you think that the game is going to hang on a while before delivering the goods. Ezugi’s Live Andar Bahar pays out as follows:

Hand / Side Bet Payout
Andar 1:1
Bahar 0.9:1
1-5 Side Bet 2.5:1
6-10 Side Bet 3.5:1
11-15 Side Bet 4.5:1
16-25 Side Bet 3.5:1
26-30 Side Bet 14:1
31-35 Side Bet 24:1
36-40 Side Bet 49:1
41-49 Side Bet 119:1

Gamesbelt’s Verdict

There are a few things to note after playing this game. The prizes are reversed in Ezugi’s version of this game. If you opt to play Andar Bahar from other software providers, you may notice that Andar has the edge and pays 0.9:1 instead of Bahar. Similarly, some versions pay 0.95:1. Because of this, it’s always worth checking how variants work before you try them. My advice is to stick to Ezugi’s basic version of the game, where Bahar is the more advantageous hand.

In my opinion, this version of Andar Bahar, or any other version of the game, really, is well-suited for first-time live casino players or those who want to play a simple game of chance. There’s not much you can do to improve your odds of success, so it’s all down to Lady Luck here, which may be just what you’re looking for.
