Monopoly Live is one of several Monopoly-inspired live casino games you can find in Evolution’s library. While titles such as Big Baller have gone on to provide more complicated and extensive gaming options for fans, I like the simplicity of this release. Yes, on the outside, it may look like yet another fortune wheel-style game from Evolution, but in this review, I’ll explain why it works very differently from its counterparts.
I’ll discuss its betting options, gameplay, bonus rounds and prizes right here, having played the game extensively for this review. With that said, let’s see what happens when you take Dream Catcher, give it a lick of Monopoly-branded paint, and pump it full of bonuses and goodies. Here’s Gamesbelt’s take on Monopoly Live.

Setting Up Bets
At first glance, Monopoly Live may look like just another Dream Catcher clone. However, having played every one of them, I can confirm that each money wheel title from Evolution is subtly different in its own ways. Monopoly Live isn’t just branded; it’s got its unique options, too. I’ll touch on those in a moment, but first, let’s talk about wagering.
Monopoly Live features a huge, segmented wheel, and on that wheel, you’ll find a few special bonus sections and the usual betting segments. Unlike other money wheel games, you can only bet on the numbered segments and some (not all) of the bonus sectors.
Stakes can rise from 0.10 up to 2,500.00 a bet, but in some live casinos, I’ve seen caps of 1,000.00 in place. Similarly, the minimum stake has been raised in a few sites. Either way, the wagering range present in this game will suffice for low and high rollers alike.
Monopoly Live Gameplay
There are fifty-four segments on Monopoly Live’s wheel. These include 1, 2, 5 and 10. There are also Chance, 2 Rolls, and 4 Rolls sections. While you can place bets on 2 Rolls and 4 Rolls (and must do so if you want to trigger the bonus game), the Chance segment is available for all players without a side bet.
Once bets have been placed, the game commences. In my opinion, the wheel spin is fairly short. If it lands on a numbered segment, you’ll receive a payout equivalent to that figure, as detailed in the paytable in the next section. There are twenty-two 1s (coloured in grey), fifteen green 2s, seven pink 5s, and four blue 10s. As you might imagine, the fewer segments there are, the more valuable those segments become if landed.
Chance Feature
If the chance segment (and there are two of those) lands in the game, then a random cash prize will be awarded to players by an animated Mr. Monopoly. Alternatively, a random multiplier may be awarded. While the cash prize is added directly to your balance, the multiplier is applied to the next spin of the wheel. If you land several multipliers in succession, they will be multiplied together before the next spin.
Prizes and Winnings in Monopoly Live
The base game will pay out fairly straightforwardly, based on the table below. Meanwhile, the chance segments can offer dual prizes, as explained above. Here’s a table explaining all you need to know.
Result | Payout |
1 | 1:1 |
2 | 2:1 |
5 | 5:1 |
10 | 10:1 |
Chance | Random Cash Prize or Multiplier |
You’ll notice that I haven’t included the prizes for the 2 Rolls and 4 Rolls bonus game in that table. There’s a good reason for that – I found that they can deliver all sorts of random prizes, so I’ll touch on that in the next section.
The 2 Rolls and 4 Rolls Bonus Round
To trigger the bonus round in Monopoly Live, you’ll need to have a bet on one of those segments. Only players who’ve got a bet on will progress to this round if it is landed. Others must watch and see what they could have won had they been braver and bolder.
What follows is a quick tour of the legendary Monopoly board. Players who landed 2 Rolls will get two rolls of the dice (at least). Those who trigger the round with 4 Rolls will get four rolls of the dice. As with the real game, if you land a double (on a dice roll), you’ll get another roll of the dice.
It is the live dealer who’ll roll those bones for you. At this point, you’ll be praying for a good long session because every stop you make on the board awards you a cash prize. Only when you’re out of rolls does the feature end. I did fairly okay here and managed a few rolls, coming away with substantially more than I normally do in Evolution’s money wheel games.
It’s worth noting that things can get a little complicated in the feature, thanks to conventional bonuses that will be familiar to anyone who has played Monopoly before. I’m sorry to say that they can negatively impact your game as well as positively, so you’ll need a bit of luck to dodge some of them. Here’s what you need to know:
- Houses and Hotels: These can be built to improve the prizes you receive on properties.
- Chance/Community Chest: You will either receive a cash prize or be forced to pay one from your winnings! That seems a bit harsh, but this is the way it is in the game.
- Taxes: Whatever you do, doge the Income Tax and Super Tax spots, as they’ll cost you 10% and 20% of your winnings, respectively.
- Pass GO. Whenever you pass GO, every property prize will double the next time you land on it. This can continue indefinitely.
- Jail: You will go to jail if you land on that square. To get out, you must roll a double. You can’t buy your way out like you can in the board game.
Gamesbelt’s Verdict
On the face of it, Monopoly Live looks like another drab and dreary money-wheel game. It’s far from that once you trigger the bonus game, though. I really do feel that you need to do that in order to get the most out of this game.
Make it to the 2 Roll and 4 Roll bonus, and you’ll find that the level of excitement is amplified, the risks increase, and the amount you can walk away with is terrific. I’ve seen others walk away with 2,000x their stake in this feature.
I didn’t quite scale those heights, but I took away my fair share, at least enough for me to want to recommend the game to Gamesbelt readers over other Evolution-developed wheel of fortune releases.
FAQ
How can I win by playing Monopoly Live?
We’ve seen results that can reach around 2,000x your bet. However, Evolution has capped the non-progressive jackpot at $/€/£500,000.
Is Monopoly Live worth playing over other wheel games?
In my opinion – yes. Other games make you jump through hurdles with too many qualifiers or don’t offer you the same bonus goodies. Monopoly Live is exhilarating and fair.
How is Monopoly Big Baller different from this game?
Monopoly Big Baller has been developed by Evolution, too, but it is more closely linked to being a bingo game than Monopoly Live, which is clearly a money wheel release.
