49ers NFL Favourites as the Super Bowl Nears

We’re down to the final four, as the NFL Playoffs roared toward Super Bowl 58 last weekend. In an action-packed Division Playoff round, the Lions and 49ers booked their place in the NFC Championship final, while the Buccaneers and Packers fell by the wayside.

Over in the AFC Division Playoffs, the Bills came unstuck at Highmark Stadium against the Kansas City Chiefs, while the Texans fell to the Ravens. Both Kansas City and Baltimore will now meet in the AFC Championship decider at the M&T Bank Stadium this weekend.

Kansas and Baltimore Book Their Places

The AFC Championship Divisional Playoffs began last Saturday, as the Houston Texans received a battering from the Ravens. Baltimore had a bye to the Divisional Playoffs and easily overpowered the Texans, who, after hammering the Cleveland Browns in the NFL Wild Card round, had perhaps expected more from their side.

Over in the other bracket, the Chiefs and Buffalo Bills fought a tightly contested game. Both had been involved in the Wild Card Playoff round, defeating the Miami Dolphins 26-7 and the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-17, respectively. Now, the Ravens and the reigning champions, the KC Chiefs, will square off for the AFC Championship this weekend.

NFC Championship Recap

The NFC Division Playoffs kicked off on the 20th of January when the San Francisco 49ers took to the field to defeat the Green Bay Packers 21-24 in a narrowly decided contest. A little rusty from receiving a bye, the 49ers still looked in good form to book their place in the championship game.

In the other match a day later, Tampa Bay, who had earlier bossed the Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card Playoffs, fell to a resolute performance from the Detroit Lions. The Lions narrowly made the Division Playoffs themselves, following a 24-23 win over the LA Rams in the Wild Card round. The result means that the much-fancied 49ers and the Lions will do battle on Sunday for the NFC Championship.

The 49ers Are the NFL Favourites

Assuming they can get past the Detroit Lions, the 49ers appear to be the team to bet on this season. They received a bye to the Division Playoffs, where they narrowly beat a dominant Green Bay Packers side. Neither the Chiefs nor an impressive Baltimore Ravens will be a walk in the park, but insiders are sticking firmly to a San Francisco triumph in February’s Super Bowl 58 at the Allegiant Stadium. With the 49ers advancing to the NFC Championship final for the second time in two seasons, our money is on them, too.

Before we head to the Super Bowl on the 11th of February, there is the small matter of the two championship games being decided. While the 49ers are dead set favs to win the Super Bowl, they’ll first need to overcome the Detroit Lions on the 28th of January at Levi’s Stadium. Similarly, to book their place in the Super Bowl, the Ravens must take on the defending Super Bowl champions, the Kansas Chiefs, on the same day in the AFC Championship game. If you fancy a pre-Super Bowl punt, our money is on the 49ers and the Ravens to meet, but as always, it’s your money and your call when betting online.
